Marvel Rivals jumps into Gamescom 2024 to confirm new heroes in a sweeping new gameplay trailer.

Marvel Rivals continues on its way to a market full of heavyweights. NetEase’s main asset is the license it handles. Yes, it’s very juicy to see Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther and the rest of Marvel’s superheroes fighting it out. The team is using the spotlight of Gamescom 2024 to confirm its release date: it will arrive on December 6 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s competitive wager

We return to the multiverse to give some coherence to the salad of cakes that take place in Marvel Rivals. Heroes and villains from the House of ideas give it their all in 6-on-6 hero shooter-style encounters. In a nutshell, it’s Marvel’s third-person Overwatch.

The game will arrive in a free-to-play format on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). Its additional content structure follows the line of projects of this size. Over the months, thematic seasons will be held based on specific additions, such as a new hero or setting. For now, several private beta tests have been held.

“With intricate environments, fast-paced gameplay, and ever-changing battlefields, there’s never a dull moment in Marvel Rivals! Battle as Super Heroes and Super Villains with incredible abilities and combine your powers to bring unexpected fun to the battlefield in a matter of seconds,” says the publisher in its official description. Universes such as the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men are ready to battle.
