Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’ is in trouble, as the Mahershala Ali movie gets delayed indefinitely

The Mahershala Ali-led ‘Blade’ reboot is officially out of Marvel’s release calendar, with the project now in development limbo.

The numerous delays and production problems of ‘Blade’, Marvel Studios project to try and reboot the comics’ vampire hunter into the MCU as played by Mahershala Ali, did not bode well, and with Marvel Studios now removing it from their release calendar and leaving it with no set release date, things aren’t looking good. It is not a cancellation as such, but it certainly doesn’t bode well for the future of the feature film.

Deadline reported the bad news for fans of the popular character whom Wesley Snipes played between the late 90s and early 2000s, and whose role he reprised in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’. Marvel Studios has decided to remove the ‘Blade’ reboot starring Mahershala Ali. The film, which was planned to be released on November 7, 2025, is now removed from the release calendar, with Disney focusing on ‘Predator: Badlands’ instead.

Regarding its production, only the names of two key performers have been revealed.: Mahershala Ali, who is to play Blade/Eric Brooks, and Mia Goth, who would play Lilith, the villain. Because of the context, this version of the character would be Dracula’s daughter and not the Mother of Demons whom we have seen in recent works such as the video game Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

The production of ‘Blade’ has been plagued with problems from the beginning, and Disney and Marvel have decided to cut corners, although they have not canceled the project outright, everything indicates that they want to rethink it from scratch once again. Kevin Feige himself has repeatedly stated that this reboot won’t be done if they don’t consider the script to be good enough.
