Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 actor tired of debate over Peter Parker’s face change

Yuri Lowenthal asks players to turn the page, defending that it was done to improve the animations and reinforce his interpretation as Spidey’s alter ego.

The release of the remastered Marvel’s Spider-Man brought with it a change that not all players liked. Spidey’s alter ego, Peter Parker, had his face changed by Insomniac Games’ decision. Now that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is about to be released, the flames of the old debate have been rekindled, but Yuri Lowenthal, the actor who plays him, doesn’t want to hear about it. This is what he said in an interview with ComicBook.

“The performance was the same for me. I got over it as soon as they said ‘Hey, we wanna make this change so that the facial animation is better,’” he explained. “I don’t care if he looks like a goblin, if my performance is better, than I’m in. I’m kind of tired of talking about it to be honest, because I think everything that needs to be said has been said. Some people will take longer to get over it, some people will never get over it,” he said.

Players related to the character

“The one positive thing I take away from this experience is that people connected emotionally so hard and so deeply in the first game that they’re mad when they feel that person changes.” The actor has not hesitated to urge players to turn the page once and for all.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the direct sequel to the first game, which was also included in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game will be released next October 20 exclusively for PS5, but before its arrival on the market, MeriStation has already been able to test it. We invite you to read our first impressions.

Insomniac Games has explained how the character change will work in the game, and no, it will not happen like in GTA V. We will not see either Peter or Miles without their Wall Crawler costumes.
