Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date to be announced ‘soon’ by Insomniac
Insomniac Games, after showing an extensive gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, expects to reveal the final date soon.
One of the great moments that the PlayStation Showcase left us yesterday Wednesday was the gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, in which a Peter Parker with the symbiote suit teamed up with Miles Morales to stop the Lizard, as well as confirming the presence of Kraven the Hunter. However, we still know nothing about the specific release date, after being left with a somber “Fall 2023″. Insomniac Games has asked for patience, stating that this date will be revealed “soon.”
“We know you have been patiently awaiting more information about the game, including when you will be playing it at home,” studio CM Aaron Espinoza wrote on the official PlayStation blog. “While we can’t confirm a date today, we are on track for Fall 2023, and hope to be able to share a final release date soon. Stay tuned for future updates on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including edition information and pre-orders.”
Peter and Miles, side by side
In addition, Insomniac was kind enough to share more about how the powers of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be combined. Parker, in particular, will showcase the symbiote powers that the Venom suit gives him.
“Between Peter’s new Symbiote abilities and Miles’ newfound blue bioelectric powers, each Spider-Man has their own unique set of skills that can be upgraded via all-new individual skills tree,” Espinoza explains. “Our heroes share technology and train together, too, so we also included a shared Skill Tree that offers parallel upgrades for both.”
“You’ll seamlessly switch between both Spider-Men across a variety of story moments in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” he continues. “We want players to bask in iconic team-ups elevated by our signature set piece moments, and experience the story from the perspective of each Spider-Man.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PlayStation 5 this fall.
