‘Masters of the Universe’ wraps filming; Nicholas Galitzine calls it the role of a lifetime
The live-action reboot of the iconic 80s franchise is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026, with Galitzine stepping into the boots of He-Man.

British actor Nicholas Galitzine, known for Red, White & Royal Blue and The Idea of You, has officially wrapped filming on Masters of the Universe, where he plays both Prince Adam and his alter ego, He-Man.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on June 15, Galitzine wrote:
“Well, that’s a wrap on ‘Masters of the Universe’. It has been an honor shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He-Man. It’s been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it… I am so proud of the movie we’ve made.”
A star-studded cast for a nostalgic revival
Joining Galitzine in this Amazon MGM and Mattel Films production are:
- Camila Mendes as Teela
- Jared Leto as Skeletor
- Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn
- Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms
- Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress
- James Purefoy as King Randor
- Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena
- Hafthor Bjornsson, Kojo Attah, Sam C. Wilson, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson in supporting roles
Behind the scenes: Who’s making it happen?
The film is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings) and written by Chris Butler, known for ParaNorman and Missing Link.
While plot details remain under wraps, the story will follow Prince Adam’s transformation into He-Man as he defends Eternia and Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor.
