Max is increasing prices again: affected countries and available plans

Another streaming service is raising its subscription prices, with new Max users already being affected.

The transformation from HBO Max to simply “Max” in all territories is not the only change that the streaming platform has undergone, since a new price increase has just been confirmed. The first thing to know is that the plan with ads has not increased its price, so it remains at $9.99 per month ($99.99 per year). The plan that has increased in price is the Premium version without ads.

The increase is of only one dollar: from $15.99 per month to $16.99 per month. The same goes for the yearly subscription: from $149.99 to $169.99. The increase takes effect starting today for new members and Max warns that active users to whom it will apply will be notified 30 days in advance.

As recently happened with the price increase of Spotify Premium, this change has only been carried out in the United States. However, it is only a matter of time before the same happens in every other country where the streaming service is available. Whenever the US makes a change, it tends to ripple out into the rest of the world as if on waves.

June 16 is a very important date for Max, as it is the premiere date set for the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’, the spin-off series of ‘Game of Thrones’.
