MCU
Meet Cassandra Nova, the ruthless villain of Deadpool & Wolverine who is the twin sister of Charles Xavier
The most anticipated superhero movie of the year has a villain who intends to live up to the hype.
Deadpool 3′ already has an official name: ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. The first teaser for the highly anticipated film premiered during the Super Bowl and lived up to expectations, and while not much has been revealed about the plot, all signs point to the film’s villain being Cassandra Nova, played by actress Emma Corrin. Cassandra Nova’s name won’t be familiar to many people, but fans of the X-Men comics will be well aware of a character who has high aspirations in a movie that will serve to introduce the X-Men and the rest of the mutants in the MCU.
Who is Cassandra Nova?
Cassandra Nova has a complicated and troubled history. A character who first appeared in ‘New X-Men #114′ of July 2001. According to the Shi’ar, an alien race in the Marvel Universe, Cassandra is a so-called “Mummudrai,” a parasitic life form born without a body in the astral plane. At the same time, she is the exact equal and polar opposite of another person, and in her case, the opposite of Professor Charles Xavier, leader of the X-Men and one of Marvel’s most iconic and powerful characters. Yes, Cassandra is Professor X’s twin, and her power is so great that he realized in his mother’s womb the evil of his twin and tried to kill her with his psychic powers. This caused her to be born prematurely and even the doctors thought Cassandra Nova was dead, but she used her powers to rebuild her cells and restore her body.
After her recovery, Cassandra used her abilities to take revenge on her brother and anyone else who crossed her path. A great villain, so ruthless that she even caused genocides, killing 16 million mutants in the nation of Genosha. A character comes to the MCU and we will see how, since her madness fits perfectly with what ‘Deadpool’ proposes and that we will see taken to the extreme in his new movie.
The anticipated ‘Deadpool 3′ already has an official name
To the surprise of many, the third installment of ‘Deadpool’ was not going to have just a three in front of it, and the movie is finally called ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. A good sign of the importance that the mythical character played by Hugh Jackman will have in the movie, and the little information that is coming out about the film only increases the desire for what aims to be one of the great releases of the year, and to which some have already put the title of the savior of the MCU.
