Mega Rising Expansion brings Mega-evolved Pokémon to Pokémon TCG Pocket
Marking over 150 million downloads, the first anniversary update revamps trading and collection systems.

Incredibly, it has been almost a year of playing Pokémon TCG Pocket. This morning, the Pokémon Company announced the milestone that the app has surpassed 150 million downloads on iOS and Android since its launch on October 30, 2024. Along with this, a new collection will arrive with Mega Rising Expansion, which is set to debut on October 30, 2025.
This expansion marks the beginning of a new series in Pokémon TCG Pocket and, most importantly, the highly anticipated introduction of Mega-Evolved Pokémon to the digital card game. Players will get the chance to harness the power of these formidable creatures, specifically the new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards. The expansion will be available via three distinct new booster packs: Mega Rising: Mega Gyarados, Mega Rising: Mega Blaziken, and Mega Rising: Mega Altaria, allowing fans to focus their collection efforts on their favorite new powerhouses.
Enhanced Collection and Trading for All Players
Beyond the introduction of the new cards, the first-anniversary update is rolling out key in-app changes that directly benefit the player community by making collecting and trading more flexible. A brand-new Share Feature will be implemented, allowing players to give a single diamond to a triple-diamond rarity card to friends each day, even from the latest expansion. Players can, in turn, receive one shared card per day, which injects a friendly, daily element into collection building.
Furthermore, it has significantly expanded the range of cards eligible for the trading system. Players will soon be able to trade cards from the most recent expansions and booster packs. The eligible card rarities are also being expanded to include Two-Star and Shiny 1–Shiny 2 rarity cards, opening up player-to-player exchanges for a much wider array of valuable collectibles.

The overall collecting process will also be streamlined with an improved Wonder Pick feature. The system will now prioritize showing players the unobtained cards from the latest expansion, making it easier for dedicated collectors to complete their sets. To provide a clearer view of their collection status, the feature will also display the number of copies each player currently owns for every card, making it much simpler to make informed decisions on what to acquire next. These updates will arrive with the launch of the Mega Rising expansion on October 30, 2025.
