Meta Quest 3 officially revealed: price, trailer, and first details of the new generation of VR
Meta and Oculus just revealed the Meta Quest 3 VR headset, their next generation of virtual reality goggles, coming very soon.
The Meta Quest 3 is a reality. The new generation of the virtual reality device, which will now have mixed reality functions, is preparing to launch in fall 2023 priced at $499.99 in its entry model, 128 GB.
Everything we know about Meta Quest 3
Let’s start with the basics: Meta Quest 3 will be compatible with all applications on your digital library from the previous device. When you take the leap you will have access to the complete catalog that is available in the store at the moment. We know that the company is preparing a relevant batch of announcements for the next edition of Meta Connect, which will take place on September 27.
Regarding technical aspects, we know that the lenses will be “pancake style”. Being smooth, it eliminates the diver effect that we had up to now. The muscle of this autonomous device will have the latest generation Snapdragon chip, capable of processing a higher graphic load at a higher resolution than up to now.
The change to a mixed reality device is motivated by the possibility of being able to see the environment around you in full color. The new cameras on the front of the visor allow you to show the world in high fidelity from your perspective. The controllers are also redesigned by removing the ring so characteristic of the latest versions while adding haptic feedback. On the other hand, we know that it will be 40% lighter than its predecessor without the facial interface.
Along with the confirmation of Meta Quest 3, we know that the Meta Quest 2 will receive a significant price reduction. Now the price of the 128 GB model will start at $299.99, while the 256GB model will start at $349.99.
