Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 2 has a release date, making the return of MGS4 a reality
After two generations, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is playable outside of PS3.

After a long wait since its announcement, the collection that brings together all of Metal Gear Solid will finally be completed this year. During today’s State of Play, Konami announced METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2, which will be released on August 27, giving players access to some of the classic titles in the history of Solid Snake.
What does Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 contain?
This collection brings together some of the missing games in the saga created by Hideo Kojima. The collection stands out for the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, marking the first time since its release on PlayStation 3 that Konami’s title can be played outside of a PlayStation 3. Also included in the collection are Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (HD Collection) and one of the gems of the Game Boy Color, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. Along with this collection, there will also be other bonuses.
The edition will be available in both physical and digital formats and will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. Pre-orders for both versions begin today. Along with this pre-order, copies will come with uniforms for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Previous to this, we got Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, where we mentioned that the game “proves that there are games that, regardless of time, retain the elements necessary to remain iconic. Its remake stays almost true to what made the 2004 title great, while adding visual and quality-of-life improvements that modernize the experience without altering its essence, balancing nostalgia with the present. Not all elements may be 100% tailored for a modern experience, but the reality is that this is one of the best ways to revisit—or discover for the first time—the story of Naked Snake.”
