Minecraft 2 Movie announced: Release date, details, and what we know

Warner Bros. has officially greenlit a sequel to the colossal cinematic hit, A Minecraft Movie. The follow-up, provisionally titled Minecraft 2, is now officially in development and is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 23, 2027.

The decision comes hot on the heels of the original movie’s phenomenal performance earlier this year. The adaptation of the massively popular video game, which starred Jason Momoa and Jack Black, arrived in April and immediately shattered opening weekend expectations.
