It is an ambitious open-world action-adventure video game brought to life by South Korean developer Pearl Abyss. Steam reveals the minimum and recommended requirements for Crimson Desert, and they are quite lower than expected
Due to the magnitude of the game world shown in numerous images and videos over the last few years, many anticipated that Crimson Desert would only run smoothly on modern high-end computers. However, the Steam page reveals that it will even run on modest computers with components that are several years old. Below are the lists of minimum and recommended requirements:

Given the requirements, everything points to Pearl Abyss having done a remarkable job of optimization and scalability. Crimson Desert does not require a state-of-the-art CPU or cutting-edge graphics card to run, which is particularly striking given that it is such a visually ambitious open world, with long draw distances, complex physics, and an abundance of effects. The fact that even a GTX 1060 or RX 6500 XT meets the minimum requirements means that the engine has been designed to adapt well to different ranges of hardware, allowing for flexible graphics settings without overly compromising the gameplay experience.

Ultimately, Crimson Desert’s minimum and recommended PC requirements paint a much more accessible picture than many feared, as it was initially thought to be a title designed exclusively for high-end computers. While an SSD and a considerable amount of free space will be necessary, most players with a moderately updated PC will be able to enjoy it without having to make a large additional investment. Therefore, the big question is not whether your computer will be able to run Crimson Desert, but rather what level of quality you are willing to play at. March 19, 2026, is the date set for the release of this highly anticipated title, and after its launch, we will no longer have any doubts about its actual performance and visual fidelity.
