Monster Hunter Wilds confirms grill of new monsters and smells GOTY 2025 candidate

Capcom is using the spotlight of Europe’s largest trade show to announce new monsters for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Capcom reveals a news that the hunters of its legendary brand have been waiting for. Monster Hunter Wilds is the protagonist of Gamescom 2024, after announcing several unreleased monsters at the gala led by Geoff Keighley. It’s getting closer and closer: the title will arrive in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We see it as part of a trailer that increases the desire to play it even more.

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the great games of 2025

At MeriStation, we had the chance to see the first real-time hunt during our time at Summer Game Fest 2024. We said then that it looked “spectacular”, both in the literal sense and because of the huge improvements in its gameplay systems. It is a game that draws from the saga’s past, from the concepts that made it the queen of cooperative games, to expand into more complex environments. The changing weather and the interaction with the landscape are some of the keys.

The Monster Hunter franchise has been one of total tranquility. The trend has been upward with each modern installment. Capcom is freeing itself from the technical chains that limited it in handhelds and others to capture its true perspective of cooperative hunting.

Monster Hunter World has been able to reach the mainstream audience with spectacular sales, with more than 20 million copies sold across all platforms where it has been released. Its expansion, Iceborne, has sold more than 12 million copies, so we can say that more than half of the players wanted to extend their adventures.
