The creator of Mortal Kombat has spoken out about the situation of the new title of the franchise on Nintendo Switch. The first comparisons did not take long to come out and this version of Mortal Kombat 1 has received a Fatality by the internet. Ed Boon promised in statements to BBC Newsbeat that this version of the game will “absolutely be getting an update” to fix it.
“A number of the concerns of the issues that had come up will absolutely be addressed. It would have been ideal for us to have released the version that we absolutely wanted, But anything that we’re finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed. It will receive support, as we already did with Mortal Kombat 11.”
The Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 is currently a disaster
As usual, El Analista de Bits has made one of his comparisons, in which it is clear that the Nintendo Switch version is not up to par with the other releases of the game. Not only because facial animations are conspicuous by their absence, but because the general appearance is light years away from the Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC versions. It’s important to note that the Nintendo Switch version was developed using Unreal Engine 4, unlike it’s current-console counterparts.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch and PC. On this occasion, NetherRealm Studios has chosen not to release versions for PS4 and Xbox One. And what about the future? Dataminer leaks confirm DLC, an expansion that will include characters like Jonathan Cage (Lieutenant of World War II), Titan Havik, or Khameleon.
