MrBeast already has partners to buy TikTok for $20 billion

A report gives hope to the purchase of TikTok by the famous YouTuber.

January was undoubtedly a tumultuous month on several levels, including the shutdown of TikTok. Although it had already happened, an extension was finally agreed upon by the new government. One of the conditions to keep TikTok active was that this social network would pass into the hands of a company within the United States, and one of those interested in preserving this social network is MrBeast, who a few weeks ago announced his intentions to buy it along with another group of entrepreneurs.

According to a Bloomberg report, Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, has teamed up with Jesse Tinsley, the founder of Employer.com, Roblox co-founder and CEO David Baszucki, and the head of crypto platform Anchorage Digital, Nathan McCauley, in an attempt to buy the social network in an acquisition that the group estimates to be worth $25 billion.

The race to buy TIkTok begins

Although ByteDance has said so far that it has no intention of selling its business in the United States, the interest in keeping open this social network for more than 170 million users in the country is a reality, with several companies interested, beyond this group led by MrBeast. Earlier this week, President Donald Trump assured that Microsoft is in negotiations to buy TikTok, although the company has not made any mention to confirm these plans.

In the run-up to TikTok’s shutdown earlier this month, another Chinese social network, “RedNote,” became one of the most downloaded apps in the United States, leading to more direct contact between the people and the Chinese market, which, ironically, was sought as a reason for TikTok’s shutdown and fears about the country’s national security.
