As part of the Holy Innocents’ Day celebrations in Latin America, the Ecuadorian channel EnchufeTV accused the famous YouTuber MrBeast.

MrBeast is accused of suing Ecuadorian YouTube channel; not at all

MrBeast’s fame knows no boundaries, and he recently became part of a Holy Innocents’ Day prank in Latin America thanks to a prank by Ecuadorian channel EnchufeTV.

What happened between Mr. Beast and EnchufeTV?

Last Tuesday, December 26, EnchufeTV issued a press release through its social networks announcing that MrBeast “has decided to file a lawsuit against the channel.”  This was due to a sketch published earlier this month, in which they presented a character called Don Bestia, who “parodies MrBeast’s characteristic style and content, focusing on challenges related to specific situations in Latin America.”

However, the joke did not make it to the day and the channel had to release another statement clarifying that it was “a harmless joke” and mentioning that the Mr. Beast parody sketch became the channel’s “most-watched sketch of the year”. The statement ended by announcing that Don Bestia would be a character in the channel’s 2024 season.

And of course, the prank began to gain traction on social media, with some Spanish-speaking media outlets falling for the joke. In response, MrBeast responded via his Twitter account to one of Indie505′s publications that reported on the alleged lawsuit. The YouTuber commented that he had ignored it because it was a joke, but that many Spanish-language media outlets were picking it up. “I’m not sueing whatever these things are saying I am.”

What is the Holy Innocents’ Day?

Every year, on December 28th, an important episode in Christianity related to the birth of Jesus is commemorated: the slaughter of children under two years old born in Bethlehem, ordered by King Herod I. This event is known as Holy Innocents’ Day. Although this date is a bloody event in the history of the Bible, in Spain and Hispanic America it has become a day equal to April Fool’s Day, where all kinds of pranks are made, followed by the phrase “Inocente Palomita que te has dejado dejado engañar” (Innocent little dove that you have been fooled).
