MrBeast reveals how much money he’s given away in his YouTube videos: “I feel like it’s probably higher, tbh”

The YouTuber admits that the total amount of his donations could exceed all known estimates.

Update:

For years, Jimmy Donaldson—known worldwide as MrBeast—has turned generosity into a spectacle. What began as videos of him giving away cars or large sums of money to his friends has now become a global media phenomenon, the scale of which is difficult to quantify, even for the creator himself.

On March 9, the YouTuber responded to a widely circulated claim: that he had earned around $200 million over the course of his YouTube career. Far from confirming the figure, his response raised more questions than it answered. “I havnt done the math but I feel like it’s prob higher tbh,” he wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

A Fortune in Prizes

This statement comes as no surprise when you look at how the platform has evolved. In its early years, Donaldson was already known for its eye-catching prizes, but today its reach is much broader. It collaborates with celebrities and major content creators and has expanded its presence to platforms like Prime Video, where it produces its show ‘Beast Games.’

This format, in particular, illustrates the scale of the prize money. In the second season, the winner, Auguste Auger, took home a prize of $5 million, while other contestants also received substantial cash rewards throughout various challenges. It is not an “all-or-nothing” model, but rather a steady distribution of prize money among multiple contestants.

In addition to this, there have been other recent initiatives: from bringing together 50 of the internet’s most influential streamers with the chance to win a million dollars for their communities, to challenges tied to major events like the Super Bowl, with equally massive prizes. But his impact isn’t limited to entertainment. Through his Beast Philanthropy channel, Donaldson has channeled millions into social causes around the world, expanding his brand’s reach into philanthropy.

In this context, putting an exact figure on everything he has given away becomes a virtually impossible task. Even within his own company, Beast Industries, there is what is known as the “Jimmy Fund”: a reserve set aside for future ideas, many of which will likely involve continuing to give away money.

Beyond the numbers, the MrBeast phenomenon offers a new way of understanding digital success, where content, virality, and massive generosity are intertwined. And if one thing is clear from his own words, it’s that the figure of 200 million might be just an estimate… and perhaps one that falls short.
