MrBeast’s new Guinness World Record: “Future Threads CEO”

MrBeast sets a new Guinness World Record thanks to Meta’s new social media platform, even beating the company’s founder and CEO himself.

The launch of Threads last week, on July 5th,  was one of the biggest social media launches in recent years. And the fallout against its main competitor, Twitter, has not been far behind, with a potential lawsuit on the horizon. But it’s not all bad, as there are also details that will surprise people about the power of convening.

MrBeast has made history as the first person to reach 1 million followers on Threads

In terms of popularity, MrBeast is one of the great referents, which helped him become the fastest person to reach one million followers on Meta’s new app, Threads, just last week. He achieved this within hours of joining the app on July 6, reaching the milestone at 9:42 am ET. After reaching the record, he simply wrote to the Guinness World Record Twitter account, “Shhhhh, don’t let the Twitter police know I’m cheating.” At the time of writing, his account reaches 4.2 million followers.

In terms of accounts, he was not the first to reach that number. In terms of organizations or companies, you’ll find Instagram or National Geographic as the first to get there. But in terms of individual accounts, MrBeast gets the credit. In the second place, at the risk of sounding ironic, is Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta.

So far, the famous YouTuber hasn’t uploaded much content, barely mentioned that “I feel like I’m cheating on Twitter by using this app,” and had the first big activation on his account, giving away a Tesla to a random follower. Again, the Tesla thing might be ironic, considering that Elon Musk, CEO of the electric car brand, is also the person at the helm of Twitter.

Along with this, MrBeast also has a bio on Threads similar to the one on Twitter. While in one he mentions that he is “Twitter Super Official CEO” after a comment he had with Elon Musk in May 2022, it is on the new social media that he describes himself as “Future Threads CEO.”
