My Hero Academia’s final season is set to release in 2025
All good things must come to an end, and just like its manga did recently, My Hero Academia is set to end with a final season of the anime in 2025.
As My Hero Academia continues to ramp up towards the finale of Season 7, which has been nothing but epic fights that have felt very climactic for the entire series, It’s been revealed that there is already a date for when the anime will actually end: The final season of the show will release in 2025.
Originally reported by Screen Rant, the revelation was made by this week’s Shonen Jump. The popular magazine included a pamphlet that confirmed the last season of My Hero Academia would end the anime at some point in 2025. While there was no specific date for when it would premiere, its nature as a seasonal anime could mean that it’ll be at some point in October, as it typically alternates between spring and fall releases.
Season 7 is still ongoing, with at least one more episode set to conclude this batch of episodes, even though the many fights happening at the same time continue without slowing down. Will fans get a cliffhanger ending this time? Well, there’s still a final arc to go through, so we can’t really spoil much about what’s going to happen.
The My Hero Academia manga ended in August 2024 after 430 chapters, which the anime has managed to adapt with incredible fidelity. The anime will end Season 7 with Episode 159, as this time the Season only had 21 episodes instead of the now usual 24 or 25. It’s still to be seen how many episodes the 8th and final season of the show will have once it begins to release its episodes.
