Last March, after a long wait, Final Fantasy XIV arrived on Xbox, and the arrival of the popular MMORPG on other systems is a constant question from many players. A possible arrival on mobile devices or the fact of coming to a Nintendo console is something that Square Enix seems to have in mind as the game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, has let slip in an interview with the media Gamereactor.

Yoshi-P stated during the interview that “I’m sure that all of the media and our players probably suspecting they really want to have our game release on Nintendo’s consoles, but the concept that we have for Final Fantasy XIV is to release our game on as many devices as possible. So looking towards achieving that goal. We are working towards, making progress and we are having discussions. So I hope that everyone can look forward to news in the time to come.”

Final Fantasy XIV and the dream of seeing it on Nintendo Switch

Will Final Fantasy XIV come to Nintendo Switch? It is possible that if released for a Nintendo system, the Nintendo Switch successor will be the one chosen to have the popular MMORPG. This is a logical decision given the popularity of the company in Japan and around the world, and will allow a large number of players to enjoy what is currently Square Enix’s most popular game.

Currently, the Final Fantasy MMORPG is 11 years old since its original release and has already seen a total of 5 expansions. The latest, Dawntrail, was released in July of this year. For now, we will have to wait and see what Nintendo has in store for the Nintendo Switch’s successor and how this fits into Square Enix’s plans to continue bringing the world of Eorzea to other platforms.
