NBA Finals are over, how NBA 2K25 changes with its new June 2025 update

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the new NBA champions, marking the end of yet another season on the court. But in the world of video games, the action doesn’t stop. NBA 2K25 has received a new update for June 2025, which not only adjusts different game modes but also prepares everything for the start of Season 8.

As a good sports game, NBA 2K25 has received a series of updates over the months to fix any of the issues it has had since launch, or to tweak and improve some of the included game modes. This time around, the patch for update 8 features improvements throughout The City, the Proving Grounds game modes with improvements to how you get the highly coveted VCs. On the other hand, there are improvements in the MyNBA, MyNBA Online and The W modes with improvements in stability and even adjustments in visual aspects inside the court.

NBA 2K25 Update 8.0 Patch Notes

GENERAL

• Preparations for NBA 2K25 Season 8, launching on Friday, June 27th, at 8AM PT/11AM ET/3PM GMT. Stay tuned for what we have in store!

CITY / PRO-AM / REC / THEATER / PROVING GROUNDS

• Various improvements to performance, stability, and visuals have been made to enhance the overall experience in The City
• VC earn for Proving Grounds 5v5 games has been greatly increased

MyNBA / MyWNBA / THE W

• Various stability fixes and improvements have been made for MyNBA, MyNBA Online, and The W
• The WNBA referee uniforms have been updated
• The “Ally” and “No Space For Hate” logos have been added to all WNBA court floors
• The Atlanta Dream sponsor patch has been updated
• Resolved a hang that could occur when selecting a team to play with in The W
• The Golden State Valkyries court floor has been adjusted to better match the real-life visual

NBA 2K25: a bit of the same old

Unfortunately, we can also say that it presents the business model less friendly to the player, and one more season, the saga bets without qualms for mechanics and requirements that constantly remind the player, sometimes with very stilted tricks, the possibility of continuing to invest money after having paid no little money for the game.”
