Neither Mewtwo nor Pikachu: This Pokémon TCG Pocket deck destroys opponents without spending money and with easy-to-get cards

Mankey’s deck is faster than any rival Legendary, and Hitmonlee finishes off those who run away and stay on the bench. Who doesn’t have Mankey or Hitmonlee?

The Genetic Apex Emblem Event 1 is giving a lot of people a hard time. Or more than the event itself, the said Gardevoir and the infamous Pikachu Ex. Getting the 45 wins that the event requires is not easy when your opponents are running decks like these, which are some of the most broken decks in Pokémon TGC Pocket right now. Today, however, we bring you a very affordable alternative. One for which you do not have to spend a single penny, because it does not bring any card that is particularly difficult to get.

The deck’s strategy is based on a very simple consideration. Opponents using Mewtwo need four Energy to cast Psydrive (a 150 damage attack that takes four turns to recharge, at least the first time without Ralts). On the other hand, those who throw Pikachu Ex need three more Pokémon on the bench (because the attack deals 30 damage to each Pokémon on the bench). In other words, to beat them, we need to be faster than the former and kill the latter’s allies. This is what the following deck focuses on.

If we start with Mankey (Promo-A version), we attack in the first turn. It only needs one energy, does 30 damage and wounds itself for 10 points. In the second turn, we evolve Primeape, which only needs two Energy and, be careful here, does 100 damage when wounded (remember, we just hit ourselves with the first attack). In two turns, we will have done 130 damage, and we will do another 100 in the following turns. We won’t give them time to charge any Mewtwo.

As for Hitmonlee, it is a very special card because its attack does not hit the opponent’s active Pokémon, but one of the bench. People get overconfident by removing their Ex Pokémon when they are wounded, and with Hitmonlee, there is no way out. There are also people who take out the Legendary (or Pikachu Ex) on duty, thinking that since it has a lot of life, those who accompany it are not as important. How things change when Blitzle and Eelektrik on the bench are the ones taking the hit!

A simple, ingenious, and most importantly, effective deck. There is no excuse for not getting 45 wins.
