New A4 expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket: it’s called Wisdom of Sea and Sky, it focuses on Johto, and we already know the release date

The rumors are over: The Pokémon Company has announced the date and name of the new Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion. Called Wisdom of Sea and Sky, the title puts Lugia and Ho-Oh in the spotlight to star in the arrival of the second generation. The Johto Pokédex has been chosen to continue adding excitement to one of the most played mobile games of the moment.

The expansion will be available at no additional cost in the app on July 29. Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile will be the starter Pokémon that will play an important role in the game upon their arrival. Along with them, a series of relevant gameplay mechanics will be added.

For the first time, we will see Pokémon with attacks that do not require any energy to be used. The trading system will be updated on the same day to eliminate trading tokens, which will be replaced by shinedust, which will take center stage for trading cards with other users. A feature will also be enabled to display the desired cards on your profile to streamline the experience.

First cards from Wisdom of Sea and Sky confirmed in Pokémon TCG Pocket

As expected, the two Legendaries are the headliners of this lineup of new releases. Lugia has the Elemental Blast attack, which does 180 damage when you add a Fire, Water, and Electric Energy. Ho-Oh, on the other hand, has Phoenix Turbo. The attack converts three generic Energy cards into 80 damage and adds a Fire, Water, or Electric Energy card to one of your Basic Pokémon on your Bench.

There are some full art cards that, while not having much impact on the meta, are visually delightful for collectors. The special Togepi is fantastic, and this full art Pichu is truly charming.
