The official X account for the ‘Karate Kid’ saga has revealed the logo and title of the next film in the saga, which will reunite the main characters. It will be called ‘Karate Kid: Legends’, and a panel will be held at New York Comic Con to reveal other key details such as the plot and full cast.

The release date remains May 30, 2025, after an initial delay in production. Confirmed cast members include Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, Aramis Knight and Wyatt Oleff. The film will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber.

We first learned of the film’s existence in November 2023, thanks to a Sony Pictures video in which both Macchio and Chan appeared to be looking for a new karate prodigy and promising to star in it.

The big draw of the movie will be seeing Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Han, Macchio and Chan’s characters, together. Their roles in the franchise are those of martial arts senseis with a kind character, but Han was Dre’s Shifu in “The Karate Kid,” his particular “Mr. Miyagi,” so it will be interesting to see how LaRusso addresses him, as he will surely remind him of his teacher and mentor. All this as they both train a new generation not only in martial arts, but also in the philosophy of life.
