Hollow Knight: Silksong is one of the most anticipated titles of the last few years, making every video game presentation stream full of fans waiting for information about this title, from a trailer to a release date. Although we’ve had some hints here and there, there’s been nothing official about this Metroidvania from its developers, Team Cherry. However, new information about its upcoming release has surfaced thanks to the Australian ratings board.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is listed in Australia

It’s been about 5 years since this Metroidvania was announced, and it has been a very long wait for many fans as information has been very scarce and there have been delays from Team Cherry.  Fortunately, we now have another clue that makes it feel like the game is getting closer and closer to release. This time it has been discovered that the title has already passed through the Australian Classification, the Australian governmental body in charge of classifying movies, computer games, publications and more.  Within the game’s page, it is highlighted that the game is rated PG due to “mild violence”. The fact that the title is already in this process, where different entities do their classification work, is a sign that the game is close to release.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was already very close to its release, as it was planned to be released in 2023, although this date was delayed in May. For now, information is still very scarce.  The last we heard about this game was that Team Cherry made some updates to the game’s file on Steam’s back-end, as well as that Microsoft quietly added Hollow Knight: Silksong to the Xbox storefront on April 1st, but it wasn’t some cruel April Fool’s Day prank that allowed users to wishlist the game. It is worth noting that the game’s appearance on the Xbox storefront is very close to this classification, so we can only cross our fingers that we will soon have a release date.
