Niantic unveils Pokémon GO Fest 2024 dates, locations, and more details
The first details of this year’s Pokémon GO Fest have been revealed, including the cities that’ll host the event and when they’ll take place.
Pokémon fans can start planning a few trips now, as Niantic has revealed the first details about Pokémon GO Fest 2024. The huge event is back once again this year, and this time it’s headed to Japan, the United States, and Spain.
The news was broken by Niantic themselves in the game’s official blog, where they unveiled that over 70 Pokémon are set to appear during the various events. While no details about which ones were given, they did tease that there will be special costumed variants, bonuses, and a new Mythical Pokémon making its debut in the game: Marshadow.
When and where will Pokémon GO Fest 2024 take place?
This year, there will be three real-world locations where Pokémon GO Fest 2024 is set to take place. The event will travel through a few countries, which you can find below:
Sendai City, Japan
From May 30 to June 2, 2024, Pokémon GO Fest 2024 is coming to Sendai City in Japan, where the event will be split into two locations: Nanakita Park and throughout Sendai City. Attendees of the event will be able to find Shiny Emolga for the first time in Pokémon GO.
Madrid, Spain
From June 14 to 16, 2024, Pokémon GO Fest 2024 will make its way to Madrid. The Spanish city will be the European center for the game, taking over from London and Berlin in previous years, and once again the event will take place throughout the city, as well as focused in Parque Juan Carlos I. Attendees will be able to encounter Shiny Crabrawler for the first time in Pokémon GO.
New York City, USA
From July 5 to 7, 2024, Pokémon GO Fest will be in New York City. The event will take place in Randall’s Island Park, as well as throughout the rest of the city. Attendees will be able to encounter Shiny Ducklett for their first time in Pokémon GO, as well as the first appearance of Shiny Unown ? in America.
Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global
On July 13 and 14, 2024, players from all over the world will be able to participate in a global edition of the event no matter where they are, and at no cost of entry. As long as you log into the game during these dates, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Jangmo-o for the first time in Pokémon GO.
