Nicolas Cage is coming to Dead by Daylight
Nicholas Cage’s latest role is as himself, facing the evil of The Entity in Dead by Daylight in a new, absolutely bonkers collaboration.
It was bound to happen at some point. After all, no one outruns The Cage. Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has just announced that renowned actor Nicholas Cage is making his way into the game as a new playable survivor, soon to be released and with an in-game story to boot.
“After countless awards and over one hundred movies shot across the globe, Nicolas Cage had seen it all and done it all – or so he thought,” says the official description of the collaboration. “While on set filming the role of a lifetime, his performance summoned The Entity, a malevolent being of incomprehensible power. The actor soon found himself cast in otherworldly Fog, forced to Survive a host of terrifying Killers deadlier than even the most scathing film critic.”
There’s no survivor like Nicholas Cage
At this moment, the only information we have about Cage’s appearance in the game is that he’ll be a new playable survivor, meaning he will have to face off against the Killers sent by The Entity in the dark world of Dead by Daylight. We also know that this is supposed to be the actor himself, and not simply a character with his face and voice. More information about the collaboration is coming in July 5, 2023, where the studio will release a full presentation of the character, as well as other details for the game.
This wouldn’t be the first time Cage plays himself in some sort of production: while not a video game, the actor played himself in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, in which he starred alongside Pedro Pascal in a wacky yet heartfelt comedy that gave birth to tons of memes.
He’s also quite adept in the horror genre, with multiple roles in all kinds of productions, from almost indie to huge blockbusters ranging from cosmic horror to psychedelic demon hunting.
Dead by Daylight is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC
