Nintendo is reportedly preparing to release a new Star Fox game and a major Zelda remake this year, according to a rumor
A well-known industry insider also claims that the new 3D Mario game won’t be coming out anytime soon.
Nintendo is working on two major projects for this year, or at least that’s what Nate the Hate claims. The well-known insider, one of the most reliable in the industry, revealed on his podcast that the company plans to release a new Star Fox for the Nintendo Switch 2 this summer. It would be a completely new installment, faithful to the classics, that would capitalize on Fox McCloud’s appearance in ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ to revive the series. Additionally, this title would stand out for its visuals and for including online multiplayer.
But that’s not all. The insider also claims that Nintendo will release a new remake of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ in the second half of 2026, coinciding with the series’ 40th anniversary. This means the Nintendo 64 title will once again get a new version (in addition to the 3DS version), which is reportedly set to launch toward the end of the year for the Switch 2.

On the other hand, Nate the Hate wanted to clarify that the release of the Ocarina of Time remake would also fill the gap left by the new 3D Super Mario, which won’t be ready until 2027. Shortly after making these statements, outlets like VGC corroborated this information, confirming that it matches what their internal sources had told them.

However, the insider’s reputation lends credence to the possibility that these two releases could become a reality in a few months.
