Nintendo Switch consolidates its position as the second best-selling console: These are the most successful games

The Kyoto-based company has updated its hybrid console numbers, adding more than 3 million units sold in 2023.

The Nintendo Switch remains one of the best-selling consoles in history, well ahead of the Wii (101.63 million) and behind the DS (154.02 million). The company’s hybrid continues to add units bit by bit, even if the pace has slowed. According to the financial report shared by the company, the console has sold 125.62 million units to date, meaning it has added 3.07 million in these first three months of 2023, while last year it distributed 4.11 million machines in the same period.

Nintendo’s intention is to distribute 15 million Nintendo Switch during the current fiscal year, although President Shuntaro Furukawa has admitted that it will be difficult to do so, although they will put all their eggs in the basket for the Christmas campaign. On the other hand, the executive has indicated that they do not intend to release new hardware during this fiscal year (until March 2024).
