Nintendo’s ‘Switch 2’ to release this year with a $400 price tag, according to analyst

Dr. Serkan Toto, CEO of a renowned consultancy firm for the video game industry, has stated that Nintendo’s “Switch 2″ could be coming as soon as this year, even including a predicted price tag for it.

It’s been a long time coming, and everyone in the world of video games knows it’s bound to happen any time now: Nintendo’s next console release (popularly dubbed the “Switch 2″) is in a prime situation to release this year. And an expert analyst thinks so as well.

During a predictions round-up made by GamesIndustry.biz, CEO and analyst of the video game industry consultancy firm Kantan Games Dr. Serkan Toto stated that the successor console to the Switch will be released this very year. He also added that it wouldn’t be a huge departure from what the company is doing right now, calling it more an “iteration rather than a revolution.” He even went so far as to put a price tag on it, as well as on its games.

The time is finally here for a Switch successor,” said Dr. Toto. “Even though I can say a “Pro” model actually did exist and certain developers were already working with the dev kit. I believe the next hardware will drop next year (2024) for $400. There is a high chance that games will cost more, too: $70.”

What to expect from Nintendo’s next console?

While no details have been shared so far, it’s been reported that certain studios have already received their development kits and have been working with them for at least a few months. If what Dr. Toto said is to be believed, then fans would be wise to expect simply a more powerful device to what is currently available while keeping its portability and player accessibility.

“The next system is also likely to be an iteration rather than a revolution. Nintendo might add some bells and whistles to the device, but it will be similar to the current Switch. And because there is Pokémon, and Pokémon is associated with handheld gaming, there is no way on earth Nintendo will drop the portability feature for their next big thing.”

However, it’s important to remember that none of this is official confirmation. Nintendo has so far not mentioned any details about a possible successor to the Switch and has even ramped up their efforts to increase sales.
