No one is watching Netflix’s best series of 2026: Two movie stars in the thick of ‘Beef’

Season 2 of the brilliant series ‘Beef’ starring Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan fails to make it into any major charts; in the United States, it barely made it to top 1.

Update:

Of course, the trends in streaming platform viewership rankings are highly unpredictable. Sometimes they propel box office flops to the top after their theatrical run; other times, they catapult obscure series to the very top. And then there’s the case of the second season of Netflix’s ‘Beef,’ this year’s highest-rated series from the streaming giant, which has taken a massive hit in viewership with the recent premiere of its second season, failing to make it into any major global rankings. And that’s despite featuring two stars like Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan.

Huge Buzz from the Audience

While this second season of ‘Beef’ hasn’t received the same ratings as the first, the truth is that this new batch of episodes proudly boasts an impressive 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, already establishing itself as one of the best series of the year so far, both on Netflix and on other video-on-demand platforms. And despite the critical acclaim and the quality it offers, the truth is that Netflix subscribers aren’t watching it, and it’s going completely unnoticed by the public.

In fact, while we’re used to seeing the most popular shows dominate the headlines with their top spots in the viewership rankings, the second season of ‘Beef’ hasn’t reached the number one spot, except for the United States, and just recently. These viewership figures will likely spell the end for the series, leaving it without a third season.

Created by Lee Sung Jin and starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton, the second season of ‘Beef’ brings “a young couple witnesses a disturbing altercation between their employer and his wife at an exclusive country club. This incident propels them into a complex web of favors and coercion, challenging their morals and relationships as they navigate the treacherous waters of high society.,” as the official synopsis states.

The truth is that ‘Beef,’ now in its second season, is worth watching in its entirety—all eight episodes, ranging from 31 to 54 minutes in length—all of which have been available on Netflix since last Friday, April 17. And if you haven’t yet seen the phenomenal first season starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, what better way to enjoy both seasons back-to-back for one of the most surprising and refreshing episodic experiences available today.
