Not every PS5 Pro enhanced game will run at 60 fps
Upgrades, enhancements, and everything else included with the PS5 Pro are still not a guarantee that every game will be able to run at a stable 60fps.
The promise of console games running at 4K resolution with a framerate of 60 FPS has been around for many years. Consoles like the PS4 Pro or Xbox One already teased the idea. Many current titles usually offer two graphic modes, quality or performance: in the first, framerate is sacrificed in exchange for higher resolution and graphical fidelity, and in the second details are lost for pushing the framerate. With the PS5 Pro, Sony intends for the quality mode to run at high resolution, but without leaving aside the framerate. Does this mean that all enhanced games will run at 4K/60 FPS? The answer is no.
According to Tom Warren of The Verge, the fact that games are “enhanced” does not mean that they will run at 60 fps, since it is not one of the requirements imposed by Sony. “I reported earlier this year that PS5 Pro Enhanced games doesn’t guarantee 60fps”, he posted on X. “Sony wasn’t super clear on this yesterday, but there will still be 30fps PS5 Pro Enhanced games.”
The price, one of the biggest drawbacks of PS5 Pro
The new PS5 Pro will have the same processor as the PS5 and PS5 Slim but will add a series of hardware improvements that boost the quality of graphics and gaming performance. It has a GPU with 67% more power than consoles of the same family, in addition to advanced ray tracing and artificial intelligence technology designed to rescale the resolution and provide more detail. However, this new machine will sell for $699.99, which has unleashed criticism on social networks. The fact that it does not include a disc reader – it can be purchased separately – or a vertical stand has only added fuel to the fire.
The PS5 Pro will be released on November 7. They have already been confirmed the first games that will receive improvements in the new console.
