Update:

Nothing continues to break the mold of conventional technology. In a move that reinforces its visual and technical identity, the London-based company has unveiled its new Phone (4a) Series family and its new over-ear headphones, the Headphone (a), globally. With a clear focus on efficient power and an aesthetic that blends retro-futuristic with bold colors such as pink and yellow, Nothing seeks to win over users who demand performance without sacrificing style.

What power do the new Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro hide?

The Phone (4a) Pro is positioned as a mid-to-high-end “beast,” being the brand’s thinnest device at just 7.95 mm. Inside, it is powered by the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which promises a 30% jump in graphics performance and 65% more AI power compared to the previous generation. For gamers, this translates into a smooth experience with support for titles such as BGMI at 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 2500 Hz for instant response.

On the other hand, the Pro model’s 6.83-inch AMOLED display reaches a peak brightness of 5000 nits, setting a new record for the brand and ensuring perfect visibility under any lighting conditions. The standard model, the Phone (4a), is not far behind with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, focused on energy efficiency and AI performance that doubles that seen in the Phone (2a).

Is this the best camera system in its class?

Nothing has decided to go all out in the photography department. The (4a) series introduces a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. In the Pro model, this configuration allows for up to 140x digital zoom, the highest range seen in a smartphone from the company to date.

The system is powered by the Sony LYT700c main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and the TrueLens Engine 4, which allows you to capture 4K Ultra XDR video with a dynamic range similar to Dolby Vision. In addition, for content creators, AI tools such as Photo Eraser have been included to clean up unwanted objects in shots.

Headphone (a): The end of battery anxiety?

The surprise of the day was Headphone (a), on-ear headphones that promise industry-leading battery life: up to 5 days (135 hours) of continuous playback on a single charge (with ANC disabled). Equipped with 40mm titanium-coated drivers and high-resolution audio certification (LDAC), these headphones not only aim to sound good, but also to be functional.

Among its most notable features for the mobile ecosystem are:

  • Touch Controls: Roller and Paddle integration for precise volume adjustment.
  • Camera Shutter: The physical button can act as a remote shutter release for your smartphone camera.
  • Adaptive Noise Cancellation: Three levels of ANC that adjust via AI based on ambient noise.
