One of the best films in Disney history gets a sequel: ‘Coco 2’ is official
The winner of an Oscar, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature 2018 confirms a sequel and fulfills the dream of the fans.
If Disney fans - and animation fans in general - could have only one wish, many of them would not hesitate for a second: a sequel to ‘Coco’, the acclaimed film by Lee Unkrich and Adrián Molina that won over both audiences and critics in 2017. Said and done, because Disney has just announced ‘Coco 2′.
“While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure, and we can’t wait to share more soon,” said Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, when announcing the existence of the project. We’ll have to wait a little longer for more details, a release date and the first trailer for ‘Coco 2′. The film will once again be directed by Lee Unkrich, co-directed by Adrian Molina and produced by Mark Nielsen (’Inside Out 2′, ‘Toy Story 4′).

Not only is ‘Coco’ considered one of the best films in Disney history, it is also one of the favorites of animation lovers. Rated 8 out of 10 on FilmAffinity, this emotional film has captured our hearts with a beautiful and touching story set in Mexican folklore about a boy named Miguel who wants to be a music star and who, without knowing or how, enters the world of the dead and meets some of his long-dead relatives.
