One of the most memorable villains in all of ‘One Piece’ has reappeared in the anime 25 years later
An unscrupulous enemy who returns to make an appearance and shows how alive the world of ‘One Piece’ is.
‘One Piece’ has been with us for almost three decades, and for a work published almost weekly with a constantly developing story, that’s hard to believe, but Eiichiro Oda has made it possible. Over the years, countless characters have passed before our eyes, but some have remained etched in the memory of fans; the first villains Monkey D. Luffy faced are among them.
One of the most memorable is Don Krieg, who was considered the most powerful and feared pirate in East Blue and who faced the Straw Hat Pirates at Baratie, the restaurant ship where we met Sanji. Krieg first appeared in the fourth arc of the series, in episode 21 of the anime, and his last appearance was in episode 29, aired way back on June 21, 2000. And now, incredible as it may seem, more than 1,100 episodes later, he has reappeared.
A pirate and part of his crew reappear more than 1,100 episodes later
It has been more than 25 years since we last saw Don Krieg in the anime. In fact, in episode 1,150, we see him briefly alongside other members of his crew, including Gin and Pearl. This shows that, a quarter of a century later, Eiichiro Oda still remembers them. Although both Krieg and his crew disappeared after being defeated at Baratie, they continued to fight and managed to reach the New World.

The episode shows us that Krieg is in Hachinosu, the pirate island under Kurohige’s control. Episode 1,150 showed us the reactions of the ‘One Piece’ world to Vegapunk’s broadcast, and among the various images that appeared, one of them showed us that this iconic crew is still going strong more than 1,100 episodes later.
