One of the most powerful weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3 showcases the game’s creativity
Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of rules, weapons, and people who like to use the game’s elements in creative ways.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is destined to be one of the outstanding games of an already busy 2023. Along with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, this title proves that anything is possible when you present a world with rules and features prepared for players to explore and use their creativity. For example, a user on Reddit shared how he found one of the most powerful items in the game and turned it into a formidable weapon.
Turn a curse into a powerful weapon
For those who have played Dungeons and Dragons, hearing the words Necrotic Damage can be the difference between a character living or dying. Baldur’s Gate 3 brings these important rules with it, and there is one player who has taken advantage of them. In a post on the game’s subreddit, user resoundingboom explains how he found an item that he was able to turn into a very powerful weapon.
“During Cazador’s Palace questline, you find a dead child, Victoria, who emanates a powerful necrotic curse,” begins the user their post. “I immediately put her in my inventory, left the palace and went to camp where I deposited her in a dark corner for future use.”
Later, the user comments on how this corpse was renamed “VictoriaBomb” and how they used it in the Steel Watch Foundry mission. “[I] chucked her in the middle of the battle before rolling initiative. Up comes the big bad Steel Watcher, several regular Steel Watchers move right into the centre of the AOE. My turn comes around and notice her curse doesn’t adhere to turn based combat, instead it hits everything in its AOE every few seconds.”
Later in this post, the user admits that this item is “absolutely broken” while other players comment on other strategies that can exploit this item. Meanwhile, resoundingboom mentions that they will try to complete this mission again in a fair manner. In the meantime, “VictoriaBomb” will remain somewhere in his camp “for future use.”
The extremely successful Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on PC and PS5. The Xbox Series X and S version is expected to come out sometime this year.
