One person breaks records with 43,000 games on Steam, and the value of their account is staggering: a house and a Ferrari cost less
Adjusted for today’s prices and excluding promotions, the total exceeds half a million dollars.

All the memes about hoarding video games on Steam—something some people jokingly refer to as “digital Diogenes”—fall short of describing the case of a user on Valve’s platform named Sonix, who has no fewer than 43,102 purchased games on his Steam account. He’s been registered for 15 and a half years, so the numbers are truly impressive: he averages nearly 2,700 purchased titles per year (more than 7 per day). The average price per purchase is $8.80.
To the surprise of many, Valve is on track to surpass the 40,000-title mark in its library, as users who reach that milestone receive a special badge to display on their profile. Sonix has spent a total of $301,354 over the past 15 years, a figure that, adjusted to the current value of each video game and excluding promotions, amounts to $753,958. These are astronomical figures, as that amount could buy you both a mansion and a Ferrari. Surprisingly, this user isn’t the only one with over 40,000 purchased games.
