‘One Piece’ gives a glimpse of Joy Boy’s gigantic power in the manga

A mystery that we get closer and closer to unraveling.

One Piece’ is moving steadily and relentlessly towards what will be one of the most followed endings in entertainment history, but there are still years to go. Although every reader of the manga now has the feeling that we are very close to knowing secrets that until recently felt very distant. The last chapter of Eiichiro Oda’s work, 1122, showed us more about Joy Boy, one of the most enigmatic characters in a series that is already an absolute mystery.

The Egghead arc has given us many more clues about Joy Boy and those who accompanied him, an ancestral figure who moved the world centuries ago. Born in the Great Kingdom 900 years ago, in what is now known as the Empty Century, a character who is recognized as the first pirate in history, and of whom we know some of those who appear to have been his companions: Zunesha and Emet.

The immense power of Joy Boy

Emet, the giant robot first seen in Egghead and awakened by Luffy with his Gear 5 and the Hito Hito fruit: Nika model. The Drums of Liberation, which reminded him of his old companion Joy Boy, who left him some of his power in case he ever needed it.

Inside his metallic body, Emet held some of Joy Boy’s haki, and when he released it, it shook everything around him, forcing a large portion of the Gorosei to return to Mariejoa. A power so intense that even Imu could feel it. What kind of power will this expected character have? The chapter showed us more about him, with a silhouette that makes us see a very recognizable pirate figure with what looks like a hook in one hand and a peg leg. Will it be the expected eye-patched pirate that Oda has been saving for so long?
