One Piece pays homage to Dragon Ball in the cutest way possible

The next chapter of the anime reenacts several mythical scenes from Akira Toriyama’s saga.

Dragon Ball y One Piece

Two of the most successful manga series of all time come together thanks to a new homage, this time from One Piece. For Chapter 1066 of the anime based on the work of Eichiiro Oda, his studio has recreated several very recognizable scenes from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, but this time with the protagonists of the pirate series.

As you can see in the video below, Kozuki Oden appears with his daughter Hiyori. The image is similar to that of Goku and Son Gohan, still a child, in the first season of Dragon Ball Z. These moments of happiness are the prelude to the arrival of Raditz, Goku’s brother, who kidnaps the child before being defeated. Before he dies, Raditz triumphantly announces that in one year, two Saiyans much more powerful than him, Nappa and Vegeta, will arrive.

Another scene played is a tribute to the one where Goku twirls an umbrella in front of Oolong in Dragon Ball. The One Piece sequence features Hiyori and her mother Kozuki Toki.

Dragon Ball Story Continues in Super

Dragon Ball Z ended many years ago, as did Dragon Ball GT, a series developed directly in anime format. To the surprise of many, Akira Toriyama has returned with Toyotaro to outline a new series, Dragon Ball Super, which picks up right after Z. The manga and anime continue to receive content, plus movies and more. In this context, the next chapter of the comic is now available for all readers, also in English.

Manga Plus, Shueisha’s free app, allows you to read the 94th chapter of the manga for free. The app allows you to read the first three and the last three episodes. Both Dragon Ball and One Piece are published by the same company, so Eiichiro Oda’s series is also accessible through this platform. In addition, the new chapters are released simultaneously in all territories and have been translated into English from the beginning.
