‘One Piece’ reveals a surprising relative of Blackbeard who could be key to the manga’s outcome
The Elbaf arc is giving us some real gems in the One Piece script.
‘One Piece’ is heading towards its definitive conclusion, but along the way it is giving clues about the characters who will play a key role in the finale. After announcing its future in the world of anime (and the release date of the second season of the live-action series), the manga is releasing bits of very interesting information.
The fan theory that points directly to this character
Gamerant has gathered some pieces and put them together to try to understand the complex puzzle that One Piece has become. Apparently, Rocks D. Xebec and Blackbeard have a deep connection to Davy Jones’ lineage. Rocks’ real name is actually Davy D. Xebec, a name change he made to hide his true identity.
Blackbeard, as the great villain, would be the continuation of that lineage, and as heir, he could amass an absolutely unprecedented legacy. For centuries, the World Government has tried to erase all traces of these characters linked to the good Davy. Therefore, with Blackbeard leading this comeback from the past, he would confront the regime to claim that the myth is actually a fact of the past. Therefore, he is a fundamental pillar of the short-term future of ‘One Piece’.
The descendants of Davy Jones are striving to position themselves strongly before the start of the Great War. It should be remembered that legend has it that he suffered a curse that locked him forever at the bottom of the sea. For eight centuries since the event, his heirs have been persecuted with an iron fist by the government. It is clear that when this story arc begins, it will take off with absolute force.
