Palworld developers have revealed how much the online servers are costing them per month
2024′s biggest hit yet in the world of video games, Palworld, is making efforts to keep their momentum going forward, but it turns out server costs can be pretty high.
Palworld is the most popular game in the world so far in 2024, with the Pocketpair title has come in sweeping everything, and as you might expect from a successful product, it has many fans who are enjoying it to the fullest, but also a notable group of detractors. The CEO of the company, Takuro Mizobe, has revealed in a tweet the monthly cost of the game servers: 70 and a half million yen, which is equivalent to about 477 thousand dollars.
A notable figure that Pocketpair will have to pay month after month to maintain the servers, but understandable at the end of the day in a title that has already sold more than 19 million copies. Further proof of all the investment they are making, and in their tweet they not only show the figure, but they also say the following: “Wait, maybe they will go bankrupt because of server fees?” With some irony, Takuro Mizobe tries to show one more point to all those people who keep pointing out that the game is an eventual success and that it will not go beyond that.
Palworld’s success continues
Without the impossible numbers of its first days, Palworld has managed to maintain its momentum a couple of weeks after its launch. Still bringing together a significant number of players on Steam, and with a well-defined roadmap for the Early Access period, it will keep receiving quality content over time. Promising additions such as PvP and Pal fights, the creatures of the game. Also, more raid events will improve the PvE experience, and improvements planned for an Xbox version that has managed to make history within the Xbox Game Pass and that is also a notable success for Pocketpair.
