Paradox Drive brings Pokémon Scarlet & Violet mechanics to Pokémon TCG Pocket later this month
Paradox Drive marks the first time Ancient and Future mechanics appear in Pocket, expanding competitive options
One of the mechanics from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket with this morning’s announcement of Paradox Drive, the new expansion set to arrive later this month, which will take us to the depths of Area Zero on Wednesday, May 27.
The Paradox Drive booster pack marks the debut of the Paradox Pokémon, which first appeared in the latest generation of Pokémon. This includes the debut of Koraidon EX and Miraidon EX, as well as other favorites like Raging Bolt, Screamtail, and Iron Bundle, along with Trainer cards featuring Professor Turo and Professor Sada. With this, the Ancient and Future categories that previously appeared in the physical trading card game finally arrive in Pocket, allowing for “a new layer to deckbuilding with category-based synergies.” Of course, we’ll also have other Pokémon to complement this season’s card set. As always, these new additions can be acquired by opening booster packs or using the app’s social Wonder Pick feature.

As usual, the events scheduled to coincide with the launch of this expansion have also been announced. In late May and early June, we’ll have the Paradox Drive Emblem event, where you’ll earn emblems for your player profile while completing missions to obtain items. Later, in early June, there will be the Community Week event, featuring missions focused on trading and sharing cards to earn trade hourglasses, accessories, and other rewards. Finally, in mid-June, we’ll have Solo Battles to earn Series B, Volume 9 promo packs, which include standout cards like Ceruledge ex, Sableye, and Florgato.
