Path of Exile 2 pushes back release date by nearly three weeks

Players who were expecting Path of Exile II to be released in a few weeks will have to wait a little longer, its studio has announced. The ARPG title will have a slight delay in its Early Access release date, now arriving on December 6.

Through its social media accounts, Grinding Gear Games announced the delay of the game’s release date. Its director Jonathan Rogers was responsible for giving the news, mentioning problems related to back-end server infrastructure work, specifically in relation to transferring microtransactions from PoE 1 to PoE 2, “one of the key promises we made”.  The title was originally expected to launch on November 15.

“We had to create a bunch of new systems to make sure all the data is compatible. And when you start migrating databases that are so old and have so much data, you find all sorts of strange demons in them,” commented Rogers in the video.

The long road to Path of Exile 2

Path of the Exile 2 was announced in 2019, and since then its fans have been waiting for its release. Although there was a lot of silence during this time, it was only in 2024 that we began to receive more information about the title. Among other things, the console version would feature couch co-op.

During the Opening Night Live at gamescom 2024, the studio had finally announced an Early Access release date of 15 November. However, that date will now have to wait a little longer. For now, we will have to wait a little longer to get our hands on the game.
