Peaky Blinders
Update:

Peaky Blinders will continue, and we will continue to delve deeper into the world of the Shelbys. A new sequel series has been greenlighted by Netflix and the BBC, and will have a total of two seasons for now. The new series will transport fans to 1953, to a Birmingham rebuilt after World War II and “a new era.”

According to the BBC, the official synopsis reads: “Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.”

Familiar faces will be participating in the series

Although no details about the cast of this new series have been released, the creative team will include some familiar faces. Creator Steven Knight will continue to oversee the development of the series, while Cillian Murphy will be participating as executive producer. In a statement, Knight mentioned: “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride.”

For now, it’s worth remembering that we still have more Peaky Blinders on the horizon. Next year will see the release of the movie The Immortal Man. It doesn’t have a release date yet, but we know it will pick up where the last season of the series left off, with Cillian Murphy, Stephen Graham, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Rebecca Ferguson returning.
