Pedro Pascal reveals he’s only The Mandalorian’s voice
A shocking revelation for fans of The Mandalorian and Pedro Pascal: turns out the actor isn’t always behind Din Djarin’s mask.
With all the projects in which Pedro Pascal is working right now, it is not surprising that in some cases he’s able to do only a fraction of what people believe he does. Such is the case of The Mandalorian, where he has just confirmed what many suspected: That lately his role has been reduced to simply giving Din Djarin a voice.
This was revealed by the actor during a round table interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in which he confirmed this fact.This doesn’t mean that he’s never present at the set, instead hinting at the fact that they did a lot of in person acting during the first seasons (obviously, like those occasions in which the helmet had to be removed) but chose to change it up for the newer episodes.
“There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it,” said Pascal. “But I was in it. I was in it a significant amount, an elastic amount. But now we’ve figured it out, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me the opportunity to be able to go and do something else.”
As such, it’s not always Pascal behind the Mandalorian helmet, with Brendan Wayne taking up the mantle most of the time on the set, while Lateef Crowder dons the suit for most of the risky action scenes.
What do we know about season 4?
Meanwhile, with season 3 recently completed, all we have left is speculating with what we will see in the fourth. With Bo-Katan now confirmed as the leader of the Mandalorians, everything indicates that Din Djarin and Grogu -who now has a new name- will fight against what remains of the forces of the empire for the New Republic.
But until then there is still much to enjoy in the “mandoverse”. Without going any further, this summer we’ll see the release of Ahsoka, the series starring Rosario Dawson and centered on the Jedi who meets Mando in the second season of The Mandalorian. New adventures will come later in Skeleton Crew, and it should not be ruled out that Mando and Grogu make an appearance in one of them.
