Peter Dinklage continues to defend the ‘Game of Thrones’ finale: “There’s something wrong if everything’s OK“
The ‘Game of Thrones’ finale wasn’t exactly well received by fans, but for Peter Dinklage, it still continues to be on a positive note. Here’s why.
If something marked the wonderful television series forever ‘Game of Thrones’, it was an ending that did not manage to convince the majority of the audience, being for many too hasty and without the character development that it deserved. Be that as it may, a part of the public continues defending this conclusion, including part of the team that made it a reality, as is the case of Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister in the show: “I like the finale!”, he exclaimed in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.
A Lannister always pays his debts
While talking about the cultural impact that marked the end of one of the most successful television series in history, Dinklage continues to bet against the majority, ensuring that the ending of ‘Game of Thrones’ continues to be up to par, in his opinion: “I like the finale! You don’t have to agree with me. How about if I said like, “Yeah, I agree. I hated the finale. The whole last season was horrible”? I mean, that would sit much worse than if I said I loved it, which I did.”
I can’t speak for anybody else’s opinion, and that’s what makes what we do fun, because everybody does have a difference of opinion and everybody gets to write about it and chat about it and drink over it and argue about it. It’s great. I mean, I think it means you’re doing something right. It’s like an old Irish way of looking at the world. There’s something wrong if everything’s OK,” said the actor with a laugh.
According to him, a good part of the public’s anger came with the very conclusion of the series and not so much because of the rushed plot or the development of the characters in its final stretch. And after eight seasons and more than seventy episodes, the general public was accustomed to its regular serving of ‘Game of Thrones’, something that would come to an end one day; and so it did.
