PlayStation 5 prepares new beta of custom audio profiles and remote play: all the details
Sony details new beta features coming to PlayStation 5, including the ability to create a la carte 3D audio profiles and support or restrict devices for Remote Play on the console.
Nearly four years after the launch of PlayStation 5, Sony continues to add new features to improve accessibility and the user experience. The latest news in these areas is the arrival of new features, still in beta, for custom 3D audio profiles, remote game settings and smart controller charging.
Here are the new PS5 audio, accessibility, remote play and power saving features
The information comes from the official PlayStation blog. The post states that from Thursday, July 25th, PlayStation 5 users will be able to enjoy new accessibility and power saving features that are still in beta, such as custom 3D audio profiles for both conventional headsets and earphones, and the ability to limit Remote Play access for individual users.
On the one hand, the new 3D audio settings allow us to create three-dimensional audio profiles that are tailored to our hearing ability, an accessibility measure primarily for users who have difficulty in this area. For example, in multiplayer games, we can better identify enemies by hearing their footsteps. Headsets such as the Turtle Beach Atlas Air, Sony Pulse Explore, and BlackShark V2 Pro for PlayStation will benefit from these new features.
On the other hand, the new Remote Play settings for individual users have to do with the ability to allow or restrict which users can use this feature. For example, if friends or family come to our house to play remotely with our PS5, we can give them access while they are still with us and remove it when they leave.
Last but not least, PS5 Slim users will enjoy a new beta of adaptive charging for DualSense, DualSense Edge, PlayStation VR2 Sense and Access controllers when the console is in sleep mode. This is a power-saving measure that automatically calibrates the time it takes to charge our controllers based on their current battery levels.
All of these new features are limited to certain users participating in this program who reside in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, and France, so this feature is not yet available to the general PS5 public, but hopefully will be in the future.
