PlayStation announces the first State of Play of 2026: where to watch it live and what to expect
Resident Evil Requiem and Marathon, Bungie’s first game under the PlayStation umbrella, are confirmed to be featured.
Insiders have been speculating for weeks about the date of PlayStation’s first State of Play in 2026, and some of them will have been right. After all, even a broken clock is right twice a day... The fact is that the Japanese company has announced when the first event will be held to reveal the new features coming to PlayStation 5 this year: it will be next Thursday at 5:00 pm ET.
Date and Time of State of Play in the United States
The event will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET. Below is the schedule for the entire United States. It will be streamed live on the official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channel.
- 5:00 PM ET
- 4:00 PM CT
- 2:00 PM PT
What can we expect from this State of Play?
The first thing to note is that this edition of State of Play will be particularly long, as it has been confirmed that it will last more than 60 minutes. PlayStation has not specified what we will see, stating only that it will generally showcase “third-party and indie titles coming to PS5, as well as the latest from PlayStation Studios.” It is almost certain that Resident Evil Requiem will be featured, as it hits stores in just a couple of weeks, as well as Marathon, which will be released in March.

Other games that are more than likely to feature are Crimson Desert, Saros, and Pragmata, which will also arrive this spring. On the other hand, we shouldn’t expect to see anything from Marvel’s Wolverine, which will surely have its own State of Play as its release date approaches this fall.
