PlayStation exclusives have consistently been nominated for GOTY for 10 consecutive years

Sony having one of their PlayStation exclusive games nominated for Game of the Year has almost become a tradition. It’s already difficult to launch a video game capable of being among the best of the year, so imagine what it means to go ten consecutive years with one—or two—titles among the nominees in The Game Awards. The incredible streak began in 2015 with Bloodborne, the masterpiece by From Software and Japan Studio, and extends until this year’s edition that will be held in the coming days, in which ASTRO BOT is nominated for the 2024 GOTY Award.

It’s not just ten years in a row; some years even saw two PlayStation GOTY candidate games, as is the case of 2020 (The Last of Us: Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima) and 2022 (God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West). Of course, the jackpot was only won twice: 2018 with God of War and 2020 with The Last of Us Part 2. Will they get the third this year with ASTRO BOT?

Date and time of The Game Awards 2024

As you well know, the GOTY 2024 (Game of the Year 2024 Award) is the culmination, but before it is awarded we will experience a ceremony full of new announcements, trailers, release dates, and all kinds of surprises. The Game Awards 2024 will be held on December 12 starting at 7.30 pm ET / 6.30 pm CST/4.30 pm PT, and it will be full of all the spectacular launches that have taken place throughout 2024.
