Pokémon Champions now has a release date for mobile devices and will launch with a special event to celebrate
The mobile launch will include a limited-time event featuring Mega-Raichu X and Y.
One of the promises made by Pokémon Champions ahead of its launch earlier this year was that it would bring the Pokémon tournament experience everywhere. Following its initial release on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, The Pokémon Company has announced its release date for smartphones.
Pokémon Champions will be available on iOS and Android devices starting June 17. Players can already pre-register for the game by expressing their interest on both the App Store and Google Play, so they’ll be notified as soon as it’s available.
Get Mega Raichu in Pokémon Champions this summer
To celebrate the launch of Pokémon Champions on smartphones, The Pokémon Company has announced a special event running from Wednesday, June 17, to Wednesday, September 2, 2026, during which players can receive Raichu with a Raichunite X and a Raichunite Y in-game. During this event, Trainers will be able to Mega Evolve into Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, depending on which stone they are holding. Each Mega Raichu awakens a different ability depending on its Mega Evolution, with Electric Surge appearing if it transforms into Mega Raichu X or No Guard with Mega Raichu Y.
Pokémon Champions launched on April 8. In our first impressions, we noted that “Pokémon Champions is shaping up to be a far more focused experience for players looking to step into the competitive Pokémon world, while also offering veterans an ideal space to practice and refine their skills [...] Without a doubt, it has the potential to breathe new life into competitive Pokémon battles.”
